in light of the recent natural disasters all around the world, i'd like to make a suggestion:

Jim Bob Duggar (and sperm) should be protected in a bunker; we may need him to repopulate the planet.

patience is a virtue

i met w/ dr.C yesterday to discuss my friend and the problems we're having - she doesn't seem to mind that we're incompatible. had a trans-vaginal ultrasound (if you don't know what that is, keep it that way) - nothing abnormal! ha! cervix is lookin' good, uterus is lookin' fabulous, & the ovaries are stellar! all these rave reviews of my innards had me confused....dr.C said i had "abnormal uterine bleeding" caused by HORMONES! Hmph....really? @@

if y'all haven't figured it out yet, my life seems to be overflowing with ironies. today's irony: dr.C prescribed me Clomid (100mg) to be taken w/ the Met for 6 cycles. this should get my cycles back on track b/c you know, the goal here is to get pregnant (& yes, i need a reminder every now and again, too!) he also wanted to inform me that "just in case we have sex during my fertile phase, there is an 8% chance of twins." ORLY?

y'all should know that i lurve dr.C and his staff; they are AWESOME! and a special shout out to nurse L....she always promptly returns my calls :)

and the drip goes on...

**warning - much of this post will be TMI...serious, TMI!***

i'm back from AZ and just as i had predicted...my little friend tagged along. and she really made her presence known monday afternoon - right after we landed in Phoenix. initially, i thought it probably had something to do w/ flying and the dryness of the desert...but i was wrong. again.

i called my dr on tuesday and set up an appt. for this coming monday. i was given instructions for what constitutes "heavy bleeding" and told when to go to the ER. now, what my dr considers heavy bleeding and what i consider heavy bleeding appear to be two very different things...for me, i'm bleeding heavy. i'm having to change my feminine products every three hours....and yes, that means i went thru a box of tampons in about 3 days (i told you...you shoulda bought stock!).

wednesday night we went out to this super swank, hip local spot AZ88 and had drinks and a great dinner! before we left i went to the restroom and noticed i was bleeding a lot. so, i did what i needed to do...and then i noticed a clot the size of a half-dollar!! i finished up and excused myself from the table and called my mom (12am TX time). now, i've since learned that for some people clotting is completely normal...but as y'all know, i'm not normal. i called the captain and asked him to look up the latest flight out thursday night and thought i'd just come home early... but i'd have to wait until thursday morning to do that - and i'd need to get in touch w/ my dr's office and make sure i could get in friday morning (yes, i know this is confusing...just try and follow along). i showered and went to bed...woke up the next morning and was running late...forgot to call dr...everything got messed up and i ended up just staying with my original schedule. fri morning when i woke up, i had another clot. again - if i needed to, i'd have gone to the ER but i think it's just heavy-abnormal-bleeding for me.

the flight back was miserable, as you can imagine. and the first thing i did when i got home was take a shower.

all i can say is that i'm SO over this p-e-r-i-o-d. it's just........gross!

oh how i love my Provera

problem: AF has been here since jan. 22 (more of heavy breakthru bleeding). i am beginning to consider buying shares of Playtex...and you should, too; bet i could single handily boost your portfolio.

solution: i finally called the dr back about my never ending drip...and i start Provera (progesterone) today for 10 days. but if the drain doesn't stop leaking after 5 days, i'm supposed to call and let them know and come in for an ultrasound and blood work...again. (just so y'all don't think i'm a glutton for punishment and misery...i did call the dr back in early march...we decided i'd go back on the Met (blech) and it should work itself out. not so much; nothing in my life ever "works itself out".)

the funny thing about all of this is: i normally take Provera to start AF and now i'm taking it to end the damn thing! irony at it's fullest.

i'll be OOT next week, as i'm going on a business trip to Arizona. & if my clingy friend is still lingering around (and i suspect she will be), the dr will have to wait.

p.s. if ONE more person tells me i just need "to relax & it'll happen", i am going to beat them senseless! seriously?!? i think i need to dedicate an entire post to the s-t-u-p-i-d things ppl say thinking they're being helpful. God bless them...b/c i just want to hurt 'em!

So, as some of you know, I am a die-hard Ron Paul supporter. On March 11, I was chosen as an alternate at our precinct convention. On March 29, I was seated as a delegate for our Senatorial District (SD) convention and was nominated/accepted as an alternate for the Republican State Convention in June. It was an AMAZING experience and I am so friggin' proud of myself! I would do a play-by-play but thought I'd just post commentary from other sources (see links to read in full) b/c they pretty much sum it up. So....let's begin:

• Ron Paul supporters won control of Travis County’s state Senate District 25 GOP convention on Saturday, but fell short at the county’s SD 14 convention.
• Rosemary Edwards, chairman-elect of the Travis County Republicans, said: “There are some new legs in the game. That’s grass-roots democracy at its best… It’s actually moving along fairly smoothly.”
• In the SD 25 meeting, the temporary chair who had hoped to be elected the permanent chair of the confab was defeated by a challenger backing U.S. Rep. Paul, R-Lake Jackson, for president. In turn, delegates elected Paul-majority committees to guide them through sorting resolutions and selecting delegates to the state convention in June.
• Robert McDonald, an Austin CPA elected the permanent chair of the county’s GOP SD 25 convention, said he won the post by about 17 votes—after which some of what he called the old guard walked out, including the temporary chairman, Brian Padden.
• McDonald said a goal of the Paul delegates is to stress certain issues, such as the economy, in the party platform. .

Want a fresh political surprise?

How about supporters of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul for president staking alasting claim in the Republican Party of Texas?

As Democrats tussled over their presidential candidates at recent regional conventions, Paul backers unexpectedly took control of a GOP convention in Austin and the Victoria County convention.

The results at Travis County's state Senate District 25 convention left old-guard Republicans wondering who lost the party's car keys --and worse.

Gail Suttle, active in GOP circles since the 1980s, watched the takeover in horror. Suttle e-mailed Republicans afterward: "This group is NOT Republican and they will not work together -- remember this when you do have to be in contact with them."

At the confab at a local middle school, she'd likened the Paulies to Hitler youth, saying they were to the right of Attila the Hun.

"I am sorry," her subsequent e-mail says, "but I meant it all!"

The victors let Suttle slide; they even named her a delegate to the party's June state convention in Houston.

Most know, too, that they're not likely to vault Paul, of Lake Jackson, into contention for president. Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona,won the March 4 Texas primary. He remains the party's presumptive nominee.

But the activists harbor long-term hopes. They want the GOP to re-commit to chestnut tenets such as slimmed government, lower taxes and respect for privacy. And a hope is that sooner or later, grass-roots Republicans will accept the Paul partisans as energetic compatriots rather than rating them moon-beamish interlopers from the Libertarian Party. Paul was the Libertarians' 1988 presidential nominee.

"The whole point is to stretch the definition of a Republican, really try to get it back in a direction where it came from," said RobertMcDonald, an Austin accountant.

McDonald, 46, a Houston native and father of four, was elected the district convention's permanent chairman by a vote of 110-94.

His rise capped months of door-to-door canvassing in South Central Austin neighborhoods in the San Antonio-rooted Senate district.

Street by street, Paul supporters identified independent-minded voters willing to come to the precinct caucuses on primary night. McDonald said the canvassers looked for Paul yard signs and independent-oriented bumper stickers, even marijuana-leaf stickers--"anything indicating that person is a freedom-minded person."

Caucusing voters then elected delegates to the district convention.People aligned with Paul's beliefs landed 32 of the convention's 36delegate slots for the state convention.

Delegates also whacked at typical Republican positions.

They voted in favor of deleting language in the state party's platform dealing with family matters such as a call for a federal constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman. They said the U.S. Supreme Court should leave abortion rights to individual states; the state platform calls for a constitutional ban on abortion.

"Abortion is not an issue that affects most people in this country,"McDonald said. "Foreign policy, the economy, personal freedoms affect everybody. ... Those are the things we need to concentrate on."

Delegates approved a resolution honoring Gov. Rick Perry. They scuttled a commendation of President Bush."A lot of people feel like he's let his party and his country down,"McDonald said.

Many ideas celebrated at the Austin convention could wither at the state convention.It might be, too, that Paul's "freedom fighters" lose interest in the party after the intensity of this election year.

Yet Suttle and McDonald independently compared the district convention to the rise of Christian conservatives through GOP ranks in the late1980s. That surge, a component of Bush's success, helped win elections.

Springsteen wrote it: "From small things, mama, big things one day come."
